Sound of the adolescence

Posted on by Mikey Moscow in Blog, Music | Leave a comment

There are many reasons why Girls Aloud’s split is horrible news. There are also tons of reasons behind the decision and, let’s face it, it lasted way longer than any of us ever dreamt (and also recently gave us at least two pop diamonds  – ‘Something New’ and ‘On the Metro’). But right now I don’t want to talk about how they literally changed the face of modern pop music or how incredibly well girls’ personalities blended with Xenomania’s state-of-art …

Interview with Amelia Lily

Posted on by Mikey Moscow in Interviews, Music | Leave a comment

I was very pleased to know that Amelia Lily was coming to Moscow for the Valentine’s Day – it’s not that often that we get a rising popstar over here plus I liked both of her Xenomania-produced singles a lot. At the time of the interview it was not yet revealed that Amelia would serve as a supporting act to the upcoming Girls Aloud tour (which made total sense!). So eventually I saw Amelia three more times on the stage …

Girls Aloud for Harper’s Bazaar Russia

Posted on by Mikey Moscow in Interviews, Music | Leave a comment

Back in the summer 2011 I literally bumped into a stunning Irish gal named Nadine Coyle – 1/5 of the world’s best girlband Girls Aloud – at the On Top party in New York. We ended up partying all night long and doing a big interview later on. A small part of it ended up in the February issue of Harper’s Bazaar Russia – just in time for the band’s ‘Ten’ tour in the UK (which I’m obviously attending as …

Interview with Robyn

Posted on by Mikey Moscow in Articles, Interviews, Music | Leave a comment

There were tons of exciting gigs in Moscow this year and Robyn’s surprise appearance at Martini Carnival was the best way to kiss 2012 goodbye. Not only did she give us a spectacular and energetic performance, but she also took time to give several interviews the day before while fighting the cold. So I managed to have a little talk with one of the most exciting popstars of the modern times for The Village website. How are you feeling after …

Quick review of ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey’

Posted on by Mikey Moscow in Blog, Cinema | Leave a comment

‘An Unexpected Journey’ is pretty awesome in its details, yet in whole it looks pretty pointless. On one hand we have spectacular cinematography, impressive villains and the return of our beloved characters (the Gollum scene is a real masterpiece). On the other – the plot is all about ‘let’s go from A to B’, the movie is too slow-paced and it seriously lacks pathos (which works for a novel, but disappoints in the Jackson universe). At some point I got …

Mikey Monster

Posted on by Mikey Moscow in Blog | Leave a comment

I may not consider myself a ‘little monster’ (I’m more of a ‘just dancer’), but I do get why I was an obvious choice for Afisha magazine’s piece on the Russian Lady Gaga fans. It was a fun shoot/interview and I got to showcase my best poker face as well as my recycled KISS look from Halloween (I call it a ‘pop rock culture full circle’). Although I won’t wear that outfit tomorrow for Lady Gaga’s show in Moscow – …

Sado Opera: веселые потомки портовых проституток

Posted on by Mikey Moscow in Interviews, Music, Party | Leave a comment

Mercedes interview for Shut Your Pretty Mouth (UK)

Shut Your Pretty Mouth is my kind of magazine through and through: it’s British, run by Maya von Doll and her friends, devoted to the hottest ladies of pop (both indie and mainstream) and just beyond cool. So I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to interview up-and-coming singer/rapper Mercedes for the latest 5th issue of the free publication. Check out my interview below or download the whole magazine at its website. More on Mercedes at her Facebook page
